That's right, like a storm gathering over a mountain, it's moving in to envelope the entire town of all of us below. Santa says in Miracle on 34th St., "Christmas isn't just a day, it's a frame of mind." Well, I love Christmas, truly. No sarcasm at all. I'm the guy that starts listening to the carols right about November 1st. I put on a Santa cap for no valid reason on random days starting about that same time. I sing Christmas songs and text them to people when I'm being a real idiot. I'm gonna have to go ahead and agree with Santa on that statement. Christmas, isn't just a day, it's a minimum of a complete month, in some families more, of what we politely refer to as "hustle and bustle." Sometimes I think it more like Helter Skelter because of the hectic pace of it all.

Now, I wholeheartedly agree with Santa on the fact that it's a frame of mind. See the happy child above on what I like to consider Christmas Eve, with nothing left to do except enjoy the moment, and anticipate the morning. This leads me to a dilemma. While I much prefer the peacefulness of the entire Christmas atmosphere, which includes music, decorations, the movies on TV, lights, cards, and all the comforts over the raucousness, I also have a store.

Soooo, wait for the plug, if it's not too much trouble to shop here, give it a try. We'll work on that picture above. I guess I have to say, if you're gonna be shopping anyway, I'm here to help. Abandon the big box stores, at least for a few items. The best gifts are usually small packages, like Suburban Nirvana.com. Santa will be exhibiting no pride in some ads for me later. Stay tuned.
